Nothing is far away from West Banbury.  We are near the A30 in West Devon making getting here and exploring Devon and Cornwall easy. Whether it’s beaches, coves, beauty spots, stately homes and gardens, places of historical interest or children’s activities you want, all are easily accessible.

The rugged north Cornish coastline provides surfing beaches at Bude and Widemouth Bay (both less than 45 minutes away) while our family favourite, Crackington Haven, with its vast rock pools, is 30 minutes away. Visit Tintagel and King Arthur’s Castle (40 minutes), and take a diversion for lunch at the picturesque fishing port of Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s restaurant. The Eden Project is 45 minutes away, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan is 1 hour, both all year tourist attractions in the St Austell area.  The popular south coast resorts of Polperro and Looe are also less than an hour's drive.

For children, there are numerous theme parks, indoor and outdoor activity centres, go-karting, farms and animal sanctuaries spread throughout the region

If you like walking, enjoy the coastal footpaths, or visit Dartmoor or Bodmin Moor, wonderful walking and pony trekking country. On the doorstep is the 760 acre Roadford Lake, increasingly popular for watersports, fishing and birdwatching, which has an excellent network of footpaths and cycle paths, picnic areas, tea room and gift shop. Fly fishing for brown trout is available and there is a launch site for sailing dinghies.  Sailing and wind surfing courses are also available and bird watching hides are situated around the lake.

Horse riding, coarse and fly fishing, sailing and 18 hole golf courses are all on the doorstep. If you have a particular sporting interest let us know and we can make bookings for you even before you've got here, making everything easy for you.  We can recommend local sporting places to suit most people.
